Mission Briefing

We are so pleased, today, to bring you a truly exciting wine!

Today’s Moletto Societa’ Agricola 2009 La Pisara Primitivo is savory wine that is complex and very intriguing. The savory nature of the wine gives it a distinctly old world appeal, while the dark fruits bring delightful balance.

If you’ve ever had Primitivo (a grape that is genetically similar to Zinfandel), you’ll really enjoy this wonderful example. Enjoy with a wide range of foods, especially hearty Italian dishes.

Decant for at least 30 minutes and you’ll be rewarded with smoother, richer flavors and more elegant fruit.

Tasting Profile

Dark and translucent with dark red hues. Darker at the core than at the edges, and beautiful through and through.

Darkest cherry, rosewood, plum skin, smoky blackberry, dried rosemary and bramble jump to greet you on the nose.

Savory and delicious, with an intriguing mix of blackberry and plum compote, espresso grounds, berry bramble, pencil shavings, dark minerals and a hint of dried tobacco.

Very long and drying with structured tannins that support tomato stem, bramble and tobacco long after the fruits fade.

This wine would be just perfect with a spaghetti bolognese or a lovely eggplant parmesan.
