2012 New Generation Unoaked Chardonnay
No oak. No joke.
Celebrate the return of Passagio Wines today, with their 2012 New Generation Unoaked Chardonnay. Our Operatives have been asking for more Passagio wines and today, we deliver a great one!
With a balance that is uncommon for an unoaked Chardonnay, today’s wine was a huge hit at our most recent tasting panel. This wine is bright and balanced up-front and it grows more complex as it spreads across the entire palate. Crisp fruit is a persistent treat throughout the entire experience.
Slightly less complex on the palate than on the nose, this wine would also be a real hit for fans of white Burgundy.
Very highly recommended, especially at today’s price, we suggest that you pick up enough of this wine to last you through the holidays.
Perfect clarity through glinting golden hues that catch the light.
Bright and fresh with a complex nose for an unoaked Chardonnay, this wine exudes aromas of lemon peel, lemongrass, lime flower, young white peach, white raisin and a delightful aroma of grape stems and seeds.
Very clean and very fresh with flavors of lemon, lime leaf, young white peach, Granny Smith apple, yellow grapefruit and a hint of flinty minerality.
Fresh and bright with wonderful fruits that linger very slowly.
Very flexible and very food-friendly, this wine will go with nearly anything you could throw at it! We’ll be enjoying ours with a pepper crusted Ahi steak, seared to perfection.
What the Winery Says
- Winemaker’s Notes
- If you have never had a glass of Passaggio 2012 Unoaked Chardonnay, you are in for a treat. Fermented and aged in stainless steel, this clean, crisp Chardonnay really showcases the amazing-quality grapes from which it is made. Its brilliant pale straw color precedes green apple, pear, tropical fruit, lemon-lime and a robust minerality on the nose. The clean, lingering finish presents layers of lemon, melon, stonefruit, slight lime and a nice acidity balanced with mineral notes.
This beauty pairs well with most seafood and chicken dishes. Go ahead and enjoy a bottle or two today with friends and family… Cheers!

Winemaker Cindy Cosco
Four generations ago my family embarked on a journey from Italy to America. Here they blended their heritage into their new surroundings, keeping the Italian winemaking traditions alive.
In 2004, I pursued that passion and family tradition of winemaking. You will find my wines handcrafted with passion, rooted in my heritage, and made as part of my continual journey. I love watching each new year unfold as each harvest brings forth it’s beauty that ends up in your glass.
I began working part time for Bevmo in Albany and was able to get a temp job for the 2004 harvest at Chateau St Jean. I was hired on full time after harvest as a wine chemist in the lab. I was able to take enology classes at Napa Valley College and soon was promoted to Wine Chemist II.
In 2007 I attended the Crushpad custom crush facility open house and, after talking to the head winemaker, was soon hired on as the Lab Manager. During my time with Crushpad I added Pinot Grigio, a Rosé , and Pinot Noir to the Passaggio brand.
Crushpad moved to Napa in 2010 and I was promoted to Winemaker. I was responsible for all the white wine making and the lab as well. In 2011, Crushpad moved to Sonoma and I decided that it was time to dedicate myself to building the Passaggio brand, so in 2012 I moved my production to DogPatch Wine Works in San Francisco.
And now, I am very proud to present the opening of the Passaggio Wines Tasting Room in Sonoma where you can relax in a beautiful space and enjoy awesome wines while meeting some wonderful people.
