Ardente Estate Winery
2006 Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon •Ardente Estate
Napa Valley: Atlas Peak
This is exactly the sort of wine that we have come to expect from our friends at Ardente Estate Winery. The wine is elegant, dark and aromatic.
As compared to past vintages, today’s wine is made in even more of an old world or rustic style, reminiscent of Italian wines. This makes today’s 2006 Ardente Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon a fantastic food wine.
Great on opening, this wine really benefits from extended decanting. As the wine breathes, it gradually opens up to reveal added aromas and deepening flavors.
At today’s special 53% off price, this superb wine may not last the day.
Concentrated dark burgundy hues with a slightly opaque heart of dark purple.
Sweet and dense with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, plum and mixed berry compote. As the wine breathes, it unravels to reveal sweet tobacco leaf, sweet spice, bramble and dried blueberry.
Dark and rich, with flavors that almost perfectly mirror the nose. Here again, the wine reveals added flavors that emerge with decanting or hearty swirling. In particular, flavors of dried cranberry, dried leaves and dried cherry add on.
Very long and elegant with dark fruit that gives way to earth and spice characteristics.
Enjoy this elegant and very food-friendly wine with a wide variety of foods. A classic, rare filet would be the perfect companion for this delicious Cabernet as the wine will not overpower the steak.

- Tasting Notes
- The warm summer days of 2006, combined with cool evenings provided a perfect growing season for our Cabernet Sauvignon fruit. The concentrated, well ripened berries resulted in a dark red wine, with complex flavors of cassis, black currant and Bing cherries.
About the Winery
Ardente Estate Winery is a family-owned estate organized in the manner of a traditional European chateau. The winery and the vineyard are located on the estate in the quiet hills of Atlas Peak, at an altitude of 1500 feet just eight miles from the city of Napa. The rocky, volcanic terrain and arid climate denigrate the vines, forcing them to work harder and produce more concentrated fruit. The harvest commence most years in late October, giving the grapes a long hang-time, resulting in well ripened and mature fruit.
