Our 2009 Napa Valley Reserve Red blends classic single vineyard red Bordeaux varietals – Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec– to deliver heady aromas and flavors. It opens with scents of dark plum, black cherry, tobacco, herbs, leather and graham cracker spice. Flavors of blackberry, licorice and tobacco envelope the palate, giving way to a medium mouth feel and a supple finish with hints of cocoa and toasty oak.

Each of the varietals is harvested at its optimal ripeness. They are then fermented separately, allowing each varietal to express itself individually before the Benevolo Boys evaluate their respective contributions to the final blend.

The result is a multi-dimensional blend with integrated layers of rich flavor. Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine a framework of soft tannins and chocolate spice notes. Merlot contributes a refined character to the blend, while Petit Verdot offers more pronounced tannins and a rich, dark color. Cabernet Franc adds a green, herbal character to the wine, while Malbec offers delicate flavors to soften the palate.

Once again, we have another hearty party for your mouth! Enjoy!
