Pinot Noir •Grace's Vineyard
California: Carneros - Los Carneros (Sonoma)
Dear Operatives - RUN, don’t walk, to get your hands on today’s outstanding Thumbprint Cellars 2012 Winemaker’s Reserve Pinot Noir.
Thumbprint is one of our favorite wineries (with one of the hippest tasting rooms on the Healdsburg Square), and Agent Red worked his tail off to bring them back to TWS. Today’s Pinot is silken on the finish and power-packed with juicy fruit and hints of earth on the palate. Winemaker Scott Lindstrom-Dake has once again crafted a wine we just can’t get enough of!
Today’s wine is offered at an amazing 52% off, so please hurry! A deal this good - on a wine this amazing - won’t last long!
Deep scarlet, with flecks of magenta through and through and a touch of lighter ruby around the fringe.
Aromatic notes of smoked cherry and sweet tobacco leaf leap from the glass, with touches of dried rose petal, espresso bean, slight vanilla bean, herbal black tea, and a hint of sage present as well.
Striking bold sweet plum notes greet you upon first sip, with concentrated flavors of a dark plum and blackberry compote framed by hints of cherry cola, European licorice, subtle dark baking spices, sandalwood, and coffee bean.
Long and lingering, this is a hearty and complex Pinot. After a bit of decanting, the fruit flavors really start to sing and provide an excellent drinking experience.
Grilled pork tenderloin, prepared with a dried herbal rub and topped with a plum balsamic reduction.
What the Winery Says
Our thumbprints on each bottle represent the handcrafted quality you expect from this artisan winery. The wine inside represents our expression of Sonoma County’s abundance and agricultural heritage. This Pinot Noir demonstrates a refined elegance, with cinnamon-spiced strawberry aromas and flavors that weave with silky textures to create a smooth, complex wine from start to finish. Pairs well with a beet, wild mushroom, and potato casserole. Unfiltered and unfined.

About the Winery
Erica and Scott Lindstrom-Dake, proprietors and winemaker of thumbprint cellars, are always in awe of the beauty and bounty Sonoma County has to offer. They are proud to see thumbprint take its place alongside the many fantastic wine producers of Sonoma County. The unique blends and award winning wines - all featuring the exclusive thumbprint signature - continue to lure both local and international wine enthusiasts.
When Scott and Erica opened their tasting room and wine bar Thumbprint cellars was the first of its kind in Healdsburg, CA. Scott and Erica designed the space to be comfortable and elegant, yet approachable and friendly, creating a welcoming environment for both adults and their children. The town of Healdsburg is now home to over 30 tasting rooms and wine bars all within walking distance from the quaint downtown plaza.
Winemaker Scott Lindstrom-Dake
“I developed a taste for fine wine from an early age, but as a college student I couldn’t afford the type of wines I’d grown accustomed to drinking.”
So Scott began a college hobby, in his garage, in an attempt to supplement their modest cellar. He started sharing his wines with friends and family, and would sign each bottle with a gold pen Erica had bought for him. One night, while signing bottles for friends, the ink from the pen began leaking. Scott hurried to capture the ink as it ran down the bottle. From the inadvertent upsweep of his thumb remained a gold thumbprint. Intrigued, he pressed his thumb to a nearby bottle, then another…
At a gathering that evening, requests flooded for the “wine with the thumbprint on it.” And so thumbprint cellars was born. Following the first release in 1995, each successive vintage brought more demand, hence more wine. Scott’s first commercial vintage in 2000 sold out in fewer than six months following its release. A wine club was established and thumbprint wines became wildly popular.
