A majority of the grapes for our Etre Chardonnay come from a Sangiacomo Family vineyard located on a lifted part of the valley floor, known for its alluvial soil. This soil profile, along with the area’s famous early morning sun exposure and signature afternoon winds, create a bright and beautiful wine. The remaining fruit comes from the highly regarded Durell Vineyard.

Etre is an un-oaked and non-malolactic Chardonnay. The grapes for Etre Chardonnay are harvested in the early morning to preserve fruit flavors and bright acidity and immediately transferred to the winery where they were whole fruit pressed. The juice is then racked to a small fermentation tank and inoculated with a minimal amount of Chablis / Burgundy yeast. After cold fermenting at 55 F for just over 100 days, the wine is sur lie aged for an additional 8 months to impart a rich creaminess to the core Chardonnay flavors. The wine is bottled unfined and lightly filtered.
