The Di Stasio family has farmed this property continuously for over 100 years growing peaches, prunes, walnuts, vegetables, and grapes. The oldest vines, the Mission varietal, date back over 100 years followed by head-trained, dry-farmed Zinfandel that was planted in 1950. Located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley with rolling hills and deep soils, they have a perfect location. Di Stasio Vineyards is designated as a California historic vineyard. As a designated historic vineyard they are recognized for the unique characteristics that these vineyards possess. To qualify, the vineyards must’ve been planted over 50 years ago and still in production.
Di Stasio Vineyard is an old vine Zinfandel vineyard that Andis Wines is proud to be working with. What makes this vineyard a true icon of the California Shenandoah Valley AVA are its unique soils ranging from decomposed granite to sandy loam, its dry farming head-trained method, which leads to low yields. 2018 Di Stasio Zinfandel is our second vintage from this vineyard. In the nose, the wine has an extracted tea leaf bouquet, spicy and strawberry jam on the palate. This vintage ranges from a cooler climate style in the nose to warmer climate style wines in the finish.
