Estates Collection wines showcase our cherished vineyard estate properties located on rare, coastal California terroir of mountain tops, ridges, hillsides, and raised benchland soils. This limited release allows our winemakers to emphasize the extraordinary terroir of our unique properties and craft very small lots for refined palates.

Established in 1984, the Alexander Valley AVA is a long, slim wine-growing region defined by the Russian River winding up its midline and the Mayacamas Mountains lining its eastern borders. The portion of the AVA we farm for this wine is comprised mainly of mountains, ridges, hillsides, and benchlands, and is filled with a diverse array of soils rich in calcium, gravel, sand, and clay.

This Cabernet shows mountain intensity in its rich blackberry, black currant, and cassis flavors. It’s bone dry, with thick but refined long tannins, and brightened by a fine burst of fruit and acidity. Blended with a little Merlot for complexity, it drinks beautifully now and will age for a decade or longer.
