The Link (aka Linked) vineyard is planted on the farthest-reaching southwestern slope of Knights Valley. Overlooking both Napa and Sonoma counties, it’s planted on a steep slope, in certain areas it exceeds 40 degrees and tops out at 1500’. The fruit is planted in both volcanic and loam soil and sits above the fog line. This vineyard is in the sun for almost the entire growing season. Both the clone 15 and 337 blocks sit on the hillside. The blocks are separated by a single open row. This Cabernet was cold-soaked for 7 days prior to the start of fermentation. The wine finished fermentation in 100% new French oak barrels and was barrel-aged for 40 months.

Inky black core with a deep red-hued rim, complex aromatics expressing both red and dark fruits with berry compote. It shows sweet fruit flavors with cigar box and spice undertones and commands attention with its lofty aromas of ripe fruits, fresh-baked berry cobbler, licorice, dark chocolate, fresh mountain herbs, spices, and cedar. On the palate, the core flavors of dark cherry, briary blackberry, huckleberry, and ripe blueberry are complemented with lively notes of cinnamon, clove, Darjeeling tea, mineral, and smoke; smooth texture; and a long, persistent finish. Bold, rich, and generous, it’s a terrific wine to drink now or cellar for up to 15 years.
