The 2011 Baby Buccella includes a bit of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot and delivers another strong experience… as with the 2010, the nose is an intoxicating mix of blackberry, red currants, black cherry, roses, violets, dark chocolate, cedar, and toffee. In the mouth, the wine seems lighter than prior vintages, but impeccably balanced, with fairly present acidity and minerality providing lift and contrast to the rich layers of black and blue fruit, cassis and cocoa. Texture is opulent and sumptuous and although this wine will benefit from a couple of years, it is drinking very nicely even at this stage.
