At the beginning of the 2019 growing season here in Napa we had a lot of rainfall and unusually late moisture in the soil. During the long, warm summer, we had few extremely hot weeks because of foggy mornings that led to a long and even finish to the growing season. Because of the long hang time, the wines of 2019 have great color, structure and soft tannins.

The 2019 vintage of the Alice Block is a big, structured, and elegant wine. This beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon is balanced with great color and concentration. On the nose, the 2019 offers fresh blueberries, blackberry, black cherry, baking spices, and a touch of graphite. The palate is smooth, with velvety tannins, blackberry, dried black cherries, blueberry jam, dark chocolate, and graphite that leads to a big, long elegant finish. Drink now or cellar for the next 15-20 years.
