The grapes for this Riesling come from the various old vineyards of the Middle Moselle (60-80 years old), some of which have not been field-adjusted, with occasional real-root Riesling vines. Fine, but also stony, slate weathered soils can be found on the steep slopes and pass the minerality onto the grapes in an extremely concentrated manner.

The grapes were picked at the end of October. 100% healthy grapes were gently ground and macerated for several hours on the aromatic and mineral-rich berry skins. Then the must was fermented slowly and cool spontaneously so that the multifaceted, fruity aromas of the wine could develop. Gentle aging in large wooden barrels with long yeast storage followed after fermentation.
