Winemaker Notes The 2019 vintage started its growing season with plenty of late soil moisture. The long, warm summer saw very few extreme heat events, with foggy mornings setting the stage for vibrant and expressive grapes. The long, relatively mild finish to the season helped to preserve freshness and finesse in the fruit with abundant hang time. The result was great color, structure and soft tannins. All in all, exceptional fruit with balanced acidity and ample texture are the makings of an amazing vintage.

2019 Juliet The 2019 Signature Series Juliet Cabernet Sauvignon is Atlas Peak through and through. The rugged vineyard sits above the fog line on the western slopes of the Vaca Mountains and stretches to 2,500 feet in elevation. Influenced by the mountains, temperatures here average 10 degrees cooler than in the Stags Leap District. The volcanic soil characterizes the uniqueness of this crafted wine with impressive texture and density and that is as lush in style.Gorgeous rich and ripe floral aromas mixed with cherry fruit. In the mouth, the wine is expansive – juicy, bright, and balanced with a cool cherry cola aspect that ramps up with fantastically balanced acidity and lingering length. Boysenberries, kirsch, dark chocolates, blueberries, granular rock on the nose, savory blackberry fruit, maraschino cherry, fennel, graphite on the palate.

2019 Romeo 2018 marked the debut of Romeo in our Signature Series in collaboration with our renowned winemaker Julien Fayard. Because he knows the personalities of the vineyards from the heart of Napa Valley, nestled between the Vaca and Mayacamas mountain ranges, we were afforded enviable access to top vineyards in Rutherford, Oakville, and St Helena AVAs. Combining small blocks Julien crafted a wine that exudes the essence of Napa Valley, which is famous for its unique combination of soil, topography, and climate. The 2019 consists of Black plums, chocolate-covered cherries, coffee beans, roasted pecans, sandalwood. Smooth, elegant entry with notes of black currant, pastry, earth, baking spice, and a seamless finish.
