Marin wines mostly tend toward the lighter bodied, brighter acidity end of the California spectrum, and that’s generally true of my pinot also. I’m more interested in letting secondary earth and spice notes show through than I am in presenting a wall of primary fruit in my wine.

Kendric Vineyard is an Estate bottling located off of San Antonio rd. between Novato and Petaluma. This vineyard is 8.5 acres on a ENE facing slope. Planted in 2002 this vineyard is 250’ elevation and is planted to three different Pinot Noir clones, 37, 115, and Pommard. The wine is fermented with 60% whole cluster in open top fermenters; 2/3 of the lots using native yeast fermentation.

Aromas of bright red cherry, raspberry, earth and spice. Dark compost and mushrooms fill the glass. On the palate the wine is very light with bright acidity and a mouthwatering finish. Best paired with lighter red meats and a creamy mushroom risotto.
