The vines are both young and old, but the soil and rock bring those ever beloved and singularly Howell Mountain attributes to this wine. Bottles from this vineyard source are rarely found anywhere in the marketplace. However, this producer wants to ensure that wines from this terroir are shared across the country. Thus, Gentry was born, as a one-off bottling specifically for retailers and restaurateurs to share just a little bit of Howell Mountain with their clients and guests.

The 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are hand harvested and crushed to undergo a brief, cold maceration before undergoing fermentation using all native yeasts in tank. The wine is pressed off to French, oak barrels for malolactic fermentation and aging.

This vibrant wine shows the power and restraint of Howell Mountain. First, a powerful bouquet of rose petals, African violets and lavender greet your nose. Next, wanting to show its true colors you will find balanced fruit attributes of bing cherries, plums and cranberries on the palate. A mountain wine at heart, graphite and iron are also ever-present.
