La Dame de Malescot is the second wine of the illustrious Château Malescot Saint-Exupéry in Margaux. The Zuger family purchased Château Malescot Saint-Exupéry in 1955, and is today run single-handedly by Jean-Luc Zuger who also makes the wine. The property is a sought-after producer of rich, pure, and aromatic Margaux wines. As the second wine of the estate, La Dame de Malescot offers a great opportunity to sample the impressive style of Château Malescot Saint-Exupéry.
The date of the harvest was one of the crucial factors with 2018 Margaux. Some estates began picking their young vines as early as September 12. Harvesting finished as late as October 15. This long window of picking allowed many properties to obtain the desired level of ripeness they were looking for. With 2018 Margaux, all the wines are deeply colored. There are opulent, sensual wines, powerful, full bodied, richly textured wines and some that are light, fresh and crisp. And of course, wine lovers will experience the elegance the Margaux appellation is best known for.
