The grapes for the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon come from our planted 3.5 acre vineyard. CDV Vineyards began its journey in 1998 with a few acres of Napa Valley land and a small Guest House, Chateau de Vie. Dave Phinney is owner and winemaker of Orin Swift Cellars, Dave’s hands-on approach to his craft have made him one of the most sought-after winemakers in the Valley. Three days after graduating from the University of Arizona, he moved to Napa Valley and found a temporary harvest position at the Robert Mondavi Winery. He moved from Mondavi to the barrel room at Opus One and then took on a full-time cellar position at Whitehall Lane Winery. There he was seduced by his beautiful wife, Kim and Mother to his two children Angelina & Aden. Dave! Glad you are on our side.

Felipe Barragan and Peter Weatherman farmed their small vineyard for three years selling their fruit to Whitehall Lane Winery for one of their premium Cabernets. In 2001 with the help of Dave Phinney they began to produce their estate Cabernet.
