This is a terrific blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Merlot that is just starting to blossom. Wonderful aromas of dusty blueberry, black cherry and blackberry give way to a full-bodied wine loaded with big, robust flavors. A hint of licorice, space and smooth tannins give our Essere Mi Red Blend the approachability to go with a number of pairings. Don’t be afraid to have a glass or two as you prep the grill for a Porterhouse steak and wild hen of the wood’s mushrooms. The secret here is to put a good splash in the marinade; you won’t be disappointed!

2018 was a seamless season of heavenly hangtime and phenomenal phenolic development. February saw abundant rains, followed by lots of filtered light in spring and early summer. Both bud break and flowering occurred a bit late, but under ideal weather conditions, creating plentiful and even fruit set. Summer brought generous sun during the day and cooler marine influences, virtually uninterrupted by major heat spikes. The relatively mild summer followed by extended fall sunshine and moderate heat created near-ideal conditions for winemakers to allow their fruit to accumulate flavor complexity with gradual increases in sugar levels. Volume is looking great, up 20-30% increase over average crop quality.
