After, 20 years of working off our original property on Mt. Veeder, the 2018 St. Helena is our second vintage from an amazing source on the valley floor. We are one of two producers making wine from this vineyard situated in the north end of the St. Helena AVA. The crop exclusivity allows us to make an exceptionally unique expression of the growing region.
In 2018, heavy rains in February led to a warm summer, which then turned cool in August, resulting in a later harvest than the last few years. What followed was a long warm fall with near perfect growing conditions and extended hang time. In the end, it was one of the longest harvests on record and also above average crop size.
The 2018 St. Helena is an impressive 100% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from premier blocks on the property. It’s deep red-purple in color with aromas of cassis, wild blackberries, licorice, cedar and cigar box. The bright mouthfeel showcases flavors of dark cherries, sweet chocolate, black pepper and a long mineral post-taste. Full body with silky tannins and a long finish. Enjoy now through 2026.
