The Terlato & Chapoutier domain: the company’s third project in Australia, and the second domain in Victoria, to the north-east of Melbourne. Michel Chapoutier joined forces with the Terlato family (the company’s American distributor) in 2000. The new domain is located in the Great Western Victoria’s Pyrenees on clay- and gravel-intensive soil. Contours made up of hills planted with Syrah and Viognier. Already 17 years into what has been a great adventure…
Deep ruby. Complex and intense aromas of forest fruit (blueberries and wild cherries) with undertones of dark chocolate and mint. Explosive blackberry and black plum flavors with perfectly matched elegant tannins that give the wine a long, lasting aftertaste. Full-bodied, mildly oaky.
The grapes are de-stemmed and fermented in cement or stainless steel tanks. Maceration lasts 3 to 4 weeks in order to extract soft and elegant tannins. 100% of the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and concrete vat.
