Grapes for our 2021 Double Eagle Sauvignon Blanc were sourced from our estate vineyard in Napa’s remote Lovall Valley. Here, fog from nearby San Pablo Bay settles in the contours of our bowl-shaped topography through midday, making Lovall Valley one of the coolest growing areas of Napa Valley – with harvest running 3-4 weeks later than Sauvignon Blanc from other Napa sites.
In the hands of winemakers Philippe Melka and Maayan Koschitzky, our 2021 Double Eagle White was whole cluster pressed, cold soaked and both fermented and aged sur lie in a mix of concrete egg and French oak barrels.
