The vinification remains traditional with approximately three weeks of maceration of the harvest in stainless steel vats. Aging takes place in oak barrels for 15 months, 30% of which are renewed each year. Racking is done every three months. The bottling of the production, i.e. an average of 1,800, takes place at the Château. It is provided by us, in the purest family tradition. The conservation of this wine is done in our cellars, specially designed for this purpose.
The vineyard benefits from gravelly sandy soil with an abundant layer of alios, more commonly known in the region as “crasse de fer”. The vineyard is not chemically weeded but is regularly managed. 100% harvested by hand, with total destemming. The predominantly Merlot (85%) grape variety is supplemented by Cabernet Franc (10%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%). A deep raspberry color with crimson tints. The powerful, fruity bouquet releases aromas of black fruit and wild berries (plum, cassis, blackberry), along with hints of vanilla and smoke. Rich and well-rounded on the palate with a perfect balance between the solid, cherry, and cassis aromas followed by the elegant creamy black-fruit and licorice notes.
