Cerretta is our second single-vineyard with origins in Serralunga d’Alba. In 2015, the first harvest, made us learn even better the expression of clay and limestone soil. Its structure and vibrant tannins are its main characteristics. Our style of aging in big barrels makes it very interesting already in its youth, creating the bases to rest a few years in the bottle. Temperature controlled fermentation is in stainless steel tanks with maceration of the skins for 4 weeks and frequent pumping over. Aging is in large oak barrels (20/60hl) for 30 months and then 6-8 months in bottle.
Garnet red, tending to orange with aging. On the nose, it opens after a short period of aeration, revealing notes of leather and eucalyptus, along with spicy and balsamic hints. The perception of the tannins is wide but not invasive, with a well-governed structure and a calibrated and harmonious contribution of the wood.
