Located off Trenton Road north of River Road and adjacent to the Laguna de Santa Rosa. This area provides an excellent medium for the coastal fog that blankets our fruit in the mornings and evenings. The cooling moisture facilitates a longer growing season in which Chardonnay thrives.
Our Chardonnay grapes are crushed , de-stemmed and pressed immediately. The juice is then fermented in French oak barrels. The wine goes through a malolactic fermentation that naturally creates a light buttery flavor and softens the mouth feel. While on its lees the wine is hand stirred in barrel once a month, and topped twice a month for 6 months. This process develops additional complexity of flavors and aromas in the wine.
These grapes were harvested mostly from the Aquarius Vineyard, among others, in the heart of Russian River Valley. The straw color opens up to aromas of warm toast and the rich creamy mouth feel lingers on the palette with a light lemon mousse finish.
