This blend is the tribute to our annual music festival also called the Ramble, itself a tribute to Levon Helm’s Midnight Rambles held in his barn in upstate New York. These Rambles would be a collection of musicians jamming and riffing together on stage.
In that spirit we opened our cellar to an improvisational jam session by a wide-ranging set of varieties and vineyards to create something wholly unique. The wine version is a wiley crew of grape varieties (in descending order): Cabernet, Grenache, Syrah, Sangiovese, Merlot, Tannat and Mourvèdre.
Probably the simplest thing to say about The Ramble Red Blend, is that it is fun to drink. The most common reaction to trying it is a smile. And the most common outcome is a quickly empty bottle of wine. Enough said.
