The grapes were hand-harvested and fermented with native yeast in stainless steel tanks. Franciscan shallow iron-rich soils consisting of mostly Josephine, Laughlin & Hugo with great drainage allows the vines a slow, even rate of maturity.The resulting wine was aged for 18 months in French oak barrels and bottled unfined.Rich blackberry fruit integrates with some new French oak, a bit of tannin, deep color, mineral and spice.
