Brookshire Vineyard is located at Brookshire Ranch, a 565-acre property of wild oaks, native grasses, and habitat for area wildlife. The northernmost vineyard blocks are made up of Los Robles clay loam with gravelly, very deep, and well-drained soils formed in material weathered from basaltic and andesitic rock. The Southern blocks rest on soils of red hill clay loam series of 37-50% gravel, intermixed with tuff particles and fractured rhyolite. Julien selected four blocks from which to make Brandon Gregory red wines. The remainder of the fruit grown at Brookshire vineyard is sold to wineries in the Napa and Sonoma wine regions.
