“Day by day, night after night, blinded by the neon lights, hurry here, hustlin’ there, no one’s got the time to spare. Money’s tight, nothin’ free, won’t somebody come and rescue me… I am stranded, caught in the Crossfire.” - Stevie Ray Vaughan, 1989

Located north of the town of Yountville, Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper was originally part of a large piece of land owned by George C. Yount, from whom the town of Yountville takes its name. Purchased by Charles Hopper and given to his daughter Missouri in 1877, the land was planted to wine grapes, prunes and walnuts. In 1960, the land was purchased as part of the historic Vine Hill Ranch.

Vinification is very similar to those wines that are made in France. After sorting – firstly by bunch and then, after the de-stemmer, grape by grape, a long cold soak before fermentation occurs. The wines undergo their malolactic fermentation in new and one or two-year French oak and are aged in the same oak.
