The year started out with ample rainfall which kept the soils moist and cool into spring. Summer was marked by warm, even daytime temperatures with few extreme heat spikes. The opportune weather conditions continued into late summer and fall. The harvest was of average volume, if not slightly below average, and the fruit quality was exceptional; allowing us to craft wines with texture, structure, and finesse.

Sourced primarily from the Tenma Vineyard in an area called Jericho Canyon in northeastern Calistoga where the soils are ancient fluvial fan deposits. Ample sunshine and vast temperature swings from day to night help retain lively natural acid and plush ripe fruit flavors. Those factors combine perfectly to sustain our well-established vines, enabling us to craft a Calistoga Cabernet Sauvignon that is simultaneously robust and smooth on the palate.

Inky ruby, glass staining color, this Cabernet Sauvignon is boldly endowed with ripe damson plum, plump black cherry and bramble, tobacco and dusty earth aromas and flavors. Powerful, yet precise tannins afford this Cabernet a crushed velvet texture and a supple and enduring finish.
