Malescot is blended from four grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. They all fully express their own unique characteristics and how they blend together so perfectly. They are grown in various parts of the vineyard, depending on the different soil structures and types. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot account for 50% and 35% respectively of the vineyard. Cabernet Franc covers 10% of the estate and Petit Verdot just 5%. They both add to the depth of the wine’s aromas and its density.
An outstanding vintage! Lots of character and very big. Hints of mocha, cedar, liquorice and fruit that are becoming multi-layered: everything is there with more intensity. It will endure through time and its complexity will grow.
