The year started out with ample rainfall which kept the soils moist and cool into spring. Summer was marked by warm, even daytime temperatures with few extreme heat spikes. The opportune weather conditions continued into late summer and fall. The harvest was of average volume, if not slightly below average, and the fruit quality was exceptional; allowing us to craft wines with texture, structure, and finesse. Carefully selected French oak barrels rounded out the elevage (or barrel aging) process, ensuring a wine rich in character and complexity.

This Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from an Atlas Peak vineyard at the top of the appellation. This vineyard produces small Cabernet Sauvignon berries which lend toward big, structured tannins. The appellation is so distinctive, we’ve made a wine from the Atlas Peak AVA since 2005 to showcase the region’s unique character.

Hinting at the intensity to come, this wine is dense ruby colored in the glass. Bramble, cassis, red and black plum swirl on the nose with savory dried herbs and cedar spice. Complex and evolving in the glass, juicy flavors of sundrenched blackberry, savory sandstone minerality and oak derived vanilla and baking spice coat the palate and drive the velvety, everlasting finish.
