Nestled amidst the majestic presence of Black Mountain in the Paso Robles Highlands District, French Camp Vineyard occupies one of the highest elevations of any vineyard in the Paso Robles winemaking region. With this unique setting, the vineyard enjoys an almost 50-degree diurnal shift, with warm, sunny days and cool, breezy nights. This terroir leads to intense flavors and vibrant acidity that form in all of French Camp’s grapes.

Intense fruit flavors and delicate floral aromas make our Valdiguie one of the hidden gems of optik Wines and renowned French Camp Vineyard. Thanks to long, warm days and breezy, cool nights, this wine bursts with fresh fruit flavors of black currants and sloe berries, met by vibrant aromas of violet flowers, lilies and opulent perfume. This luscious and rich wine has beautiful tension and a long, clean finish. Aged 10 months in new French oak barrels, our Valdiguie’s flavor is intensified when enjoyed after being chilled in the refrigerator for a few hours.

“My role as the winemaker is to let the vineyard and the unique qualities of the fruit shine through in the wine. Let the terroir be the star.” - Joey Tensley, Winemaker
