Fruit for our Old Vine Field Blend comes from 60-year-old (average), head-trained vines rooted in rocky, well-draining soils in the heart of Mendocino County. The wine opens with aromas of red currant, black cherry, clove spice and hints of molasses. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is densely textured with flavors of red plum, tobacco, and a subtle note of iron on the finish. Post & Vine’s Old Vine Field Blend comes from Testa Vineyard, a certified Organic (CCOF certified) and Biodynamic (Demeter) site in Mendocino County.

Well-timed winter rains and an even and moderate growing season delivered a complete expression of the historic Testa Vineyard in our 2019 Post & Vine Old Vine Field Blend. Opening with aromas of ripe black cherry, damp earth, and hints of rose petal that carry over to the mouth and harmoniously mesh with flavors of blackberry, pomegranate, dried leaves, and a hint of sweet spice. The palate is plush and powerful, yet balanced by well-integrated tannins and ample amounts of natural acidity.
