The main foundation is anchored there, in those privileged soils at 1,360 meters above sea level on a 10% slope on the slopes of the Jaboncillo mountain range, a geological formation close to the alluvial cone of the Las Tunas River, in the northwest area of the Uco Valley.
Prolonged exposure to arid conditions throughout geological eras allowed microbiological activity to develop calcium carbonate deposits on the outcropping gravel in the area, resulting in one of the most limestone-rich environments in Mendoza. Furthermore, the altitude and slope determine a temperate climate with highs and lows favorable for the full ripening of phenolic vines.
