We grow our Petite Sirah at two elevations on our property – 100 feet and 1800 feet. These two vineyards are quite different in temperature and soil and, as such, the grapes take on different characteristics. This entirely hand cultivated Petite Sirah imparts a lovely aroma of violets and rose. It has expressive flavors of bright cherry and sweet vanilla and a light tannic backbone.

Review

Galante Olive Hill Carmel Valley 2007 Monterey Full-bodied and virile, even and rich, but with vibrant acidity and well-integrated, fine-grained, grippy tannins. Initial attack of violets, blueberries, and black raspberries unfolds with flavors of tobacco, black licorice, smoke, and spices. At 12.5% ABV, it proves there can be complexity and persistence without big alcohol-at least in the right terroir (in this instance, dry-farmed hillside fruit). Still an infant, with a long life ahead. Drink now to 2020+
