Historical records show that a portion of Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard was planted in 1895 by Mrs. Thomas Rutherford. This 300-acre parcel was first purchased by Beaulieu founder Georges de Latour in 1928 and called Beaulieu Vineyard Number 3, the home to BV’s Rutherford Cabernets made by the renowned winemaker André Tchelistcheff. These wines achieved wide acclaim in the 1960s and 70s, establishing BV’s pre-eminence in the making of fine Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Purchased by Beckstoffer Vineyards in 1988, the vineyard has since been replanted using new Cabernet Sauvignon clones with tighter spacing and advanced trellising systems.
The 2022 Beckstoffer George III Cabernet Sauvignon from Rutherford, Napa Valley, is a remarkable expression of this renowned terroir. It marries the power and opulence of Napa Valley Cabernet with the elegance and complexity that define the region’s finest wines. This vintage is a testament to meticulous winemaking and the unique character of the vineyard. Enjoy it now or allow it to age gracefully in your cellar, as it promises to evolve and develop even greater depths of flavor over time. A true masterpiece that will undoubtedly be cherished by collectors and connoisseurs alike.
