My father has always enjoyed a challenge. In 2000, he began working on a new project: to create the best wine in the family. His goal went beyond just making a particular wine: he invited us to dream, he motivated us to believe that we, as a family, could make great wines. With the 2002 vintage came this wine called Zeta, which embodied the spirit and pioneering vision of the family. It was a blend that really resonated with us. A blend of Malbec – Argentina’s most important variety – with Tempranillo, the variety that embodied the visionary spirit of the Zuccardi family. With the 2013 harvest, I felt a change was necessary. The result is this wine, named after my father, which reflects the evolution of our perspective over the years. José Zuccardi is a mountain Malbec, sourced from vineyards located in the stony, calcareous regions of the Uco Valley. It is fermented in unlined concrete tanks and aged in oak barrels (foudres).

The 2021 vintage was excellent. With a cool and humid climate, the clusters had the necessary time to reach maturity with a perfect balance of sugar and acidity, and great tannin structure. Our meticulous work of parcel and soil–type separation at harvest (a process we’ve refined for more than a decade) allowed us to pick each section of our vineyards at the ideal moment, showcasing the great diversity that characterizes the Uco Valley.
