This vineyard is located a few miles from the Pacific Ocean, near the tiny town of Annapolis, and is farmed by Steve Campbell. At approximately 750 feet above sea level, it sits right at the boundary of the marine layer, ensuring that the cool, coastal climate delays ripening well beyond the warmer vineyards to the east. The two-decade-old vines grow on sandy, low-vigor Goldridge soil, which helps reduce yields to near two tons per acre.

Deep golden yellow-green in color. Enticing and intense aromas of green pineapple, lemon peel, quince, baking spice and flint. Incredible texture immediately on the palate with mouthwatering, saline reduction adding a subtle, mineral nuance to flowery orchard fruit and spiced citrus scents and flavors. This wine seduces the palate – even more so an hour after opening. Notes of creamy almond paste emerge with time in the glass, but the tension is sustained due to its lively character resulting from the combination of painfully small clusters and berries and rock-strewn soil. Appealing and delicious now at 13% ABV, this bottling will only improve with time. Our second vintage shows the greatness for Chardonnay from this part of Campbell Ranch. Drink now and over the next decade.
