Above the town of Freestone, Hawk Hill Vineyard is perched on a steep, Goldridge soil covered slope just a few miles from the Pacific. Shaped by the coastal climate, this low yielding vineyard is farmed by the Yarak family. The two decades old vines work late into the fall to ripen and develop detailed flavors in its tiny berries.

This is our first Anthill wine from this site just above Freestone, and the second time seeing the fruit, having worked with it at William-Selyem in 2003. This is Old Styled Pinot Noir, tightly wound and balanced by lovely fruit and texture. Layers of raspberry and cherry are wrapped around a spine of refreshing acid in this promising Pinot. Clove, carnation and wet soil flavors add nuance, complexity and mouth watering length to this classic Sonoma Coast bottling. Drink winter 2020-2028.
