The youngest of the 3 sources in the Los Alamos Graciano, Nolan Ranch, offers a dynamic parcel. A rolling hill both north to south and east to west, Nolan Graciano is harvested in 3 separate picks, on 3 separate dates, optimizing the 3 distinct aspects on the hillside. We utilize the more lifted and savory wines from this vineyard in the blend, to assure a fresh and vibrant product. Portico Hills Graciano has the steepest slope and the most direct southern aspect. This plot orientation and grade, paired with rocky soils, enhances sun exposure and water drainage, increasing concentration in the fruit. Portico Hills offers the most midpalate texture and blue fruit opacity. Martian Ranch Vineyard is the eldest of the 3 vineyards in the blend, and our first source of Graciano dating back to 2012. Over a decade of Bio-Dyanamic farming and limited watering, has coaxed down deep roots, imparting this Graciano with dense fruit and more exotic aromatics.

Each specific vineyard is fermented separately in 3000 lbs. (1.5 ton) open top fermentation bins, punched down 2X per day during fermentation. After ~14 days on the skins, the wine is pressed directly to barrel on the gross lees as separate lots. Aging only in neutral French Oak barrels, all vineyards stay on the heavy lees through malolactic fermentation, ~6 months on the gross lees. After this ~6 month period, all components are racked off their heavy lees, and married together in tank. We return the blend back to barrel, off the lees, and continue to age for an additional 3 months to allow integration of the components in barrel. Bottled after a total ~9 months in barrel.
