Made from golden Aligoté vines over 50 years old. “Alba” comes from the Latin alabastrites , meaning “white”. The name also evokes dawn, morning freshness and renewal: a direct reference to the morning light on the hillsides of Chitry, when the sun caresses our old vines and makes the golden Aligoté grapes sparkle. It is also a nod to the history of an iconic grape variety of Burgundy. Long kept discreet, Aligoté is now revealing all its purity and pride once again.
2022 was marked by a temperate climate allowing uniform ripening, good balance between freshness and aromatic richness. Bright apple and citrus, crushed stones, sea salt, thirst-quenching energy; deliciously fruity and textured with notes of ruby grapefruit, nectarine, green apple, and hints of saline minerality; vibrant citrus, lime, apple, pear, youthful and fresh with iodine notes; pure, rich and textured, with peach and white fleshy stone fruit, dry salty finish.
