The 2022 vintage in Suisun Valley was marked by a warm, dry growing season with below-average winter rainfall and a significant early September heatwave. Budbreak was even, summer conditions were steady, and harvest began slightly earlier than usual. While yields were generally lighter due to drought and heat, the smaller berries delivered excellent concentration, deep color, and strong tannin structure. The resulting wines, especially Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon, show richness, balance, and age-worthy intensity.

Right off the bat in the glass the wine is dark shiny eggplant with touches of lipstick on the rim. On the nose the wine is very juicy with touches of mango, passion fruit, blackberry and raspberry candy with coconut ice cream and slate. One sip and the wine is big and bold round entrance on a fresh mild palate, with touches of boysenberry and Mirabelle plum, lingering on dense tannins watermelon candy and pear candy.
