Situated along the western ridge of the Mayacamas mountain range, Stonestreet Estate’s Cougar Ridge vineyard is comprised of volcanic basalt with pockets of quartz on clay loam. Planted in 1997, the Riesling blocks are between 700-1,000 feet elevation with sun exposure from the southwest while simultaneously sitting right on the fog line coming from the Pacific Ocean a mere 20 miles away.

Thee 2022 growing season consisted of very minimal rainfall followed by a warm March that was suitable for budbreak. The cooler than average summer temperatures brought the grapes to optimal ripeness with the first pick along the slopes of Cougar Ridge beginning late August. Thee year’s vintage is characterized by vibrant fruit expression, balanced acidity, and a notable sense of terroir. Meticulous vineyard management has yielded wines of exceptional quality and distinction.

Prior to bottling, the wine underwent 8 months of élevage on full lees and finished with light filtration. A Riesling with oral aromas of honeysuckle and stone fruit, maturing into dried chamomile and wet stone. The palate illustrates bright notes of fresh lime, white pineapple and tangerine, complemented by balanced minerality.
