Only a small hand full of winemakers are given access to this immaculately farmed vineyard in the Occidental region of Sonoma Coast. The late famed vineyard manager Ulises Valdez put this vineyard on the nap with an uncommon attention to detail and meticulous farming practices demanded by this extraordinary site. Silver Eagle is a thirty-acre vineyard situated among the rolling hills north of Occidental, in the Green Valley viticulture area, at the western edge of the Sonoma Coast. Our blocks within the vineyard are positioned in very low-vigor sections and planted in tight formation in Goldridge soils, resulting in small clusters and intense flavors.

This vineyard is planted to the “VR” clone, originally brought over from the epic winegrowing region known as Vosne-Romanée, home to Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, one of Burgundy’s most storied vineyards and wines, commanding the highest prices ever captured at auction. This gorgeous yet muscular wine displays a ruby-purple hue with a deep core of black raspberries, red raspberry compote, and fresh blackberries. Medium-bodied, very elegant, high-toned red fruit and refreshing, it has a fine-grained texture and a long, peppery finish. Prepare yourself to be wooed and then won over; this quintessential, elegant yet powerful and structured Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir will drink nicely for 10-12 years or more!
