In gathering our pizza wine “research,” there was really no resounding answer of what wine would make the perfect companion to pizza. What would be the best choice? Why not travel to Southern Italy, the birthplace of modern pizza. It was there that we found a producer in Puglia, the boot heel of Italy. This winery specialized in growing grapes indigenous to Italy like Primitivo and Negroamaro. We started experimenting with the grapes and after “crushing success,” we anxiously flew our wine to the States. After numerous taste tests we finally decided on our very own special blend.
