Drum Canyon Vineyard, farmed by the Dierberg family in the western Sta. Rita Hills AVA. Known for its cool-climate, Burgundian-style slopes with ancient seabed soils; considered one of the great crus of the region for Pinot Noir.

The 2020 vintage in Drum Canyon was marked by a normal growing season with two exceptional heat spikes. Learned from 2017, vines endured the first wave to concentrate fruit; picked before the second to maintain acidity. Minimalist approach in the cellar—complete destemming, spontaneous fermentation, limiting new oak. From the “grand cru” blocks of Drum Canyon, this Pinot Noir has dark fruit with a fennel-like spice and earthy notes driving youthful aromatics. Structure wraps finesse-driven weight and mid-palate with great length.
