Optimal bloom and set with a lighter crop load allowed purity of fruit, integration, and balance. Even, slow ripening led to excellent phenolic development and peak maturity, resulting in bold, precise flavors and refined structure.
2019 was another stellar growing season in the Russian River Valley, with early precipitation and cool to moderate temperatures in Spring keeping soils sufficient in moisture. Bloom and set were optimal with a lighter crop load compared to 2018. This allowed for the terroir to really come through with purity of fruit, integration, and balance.
