2019 was another stellar growing season in the Napa Valley, with early precipitation and cool to moderate temperatures in Spring that kept sufficient moisture in the soils. Bloom and set were optimal with a lighter crop than 2018. This allowed for the terroir to really come through, with purity of fruit, integration, and balance. Even, slow ripening throughout the summer allowed for excellent phenolic development and harvesting at peak maturity. Overall, the vintage showcases all the attributes of a rich Cabernet Sauvignon, with bold structure, depth, and precision.

Deep ruby and nearly opaque in the glass; the bouquet offers an aromatic bowlful of ripe fruits including blackberry and dark cherry along with additional non-fruited scents including that of a baseball mitt that has been used on a hot day, chocolate and a complementary contribution from the oak. Flavors of dark plum and blackberry. Density of tannins that are rounded for a fairly smooth texture. Tannins outpace the fruit on the long finish. Hits all the pleasure points on the palate.
