If there were one word to describe the 2022 vintage, it would be: warm! Like 2021, there was a low amount of rainfall in Napa Valley in 2022. Despite that, the vineyards of Trois Noix experienced remarkably high yields in both white and red varietals, as well as outstanding quality. We credit this to the responsiveness and diligence of our growers. While most of the summer months were moderately warm, a record-breaking heat spell overcame the valley on Labor Day, which lasted for nearly two weeks. Fortunately, we had already picked most of our fruit by then, which locked in the acidity and nuance that we love in our wines.

An idyllic expression of this vineyard, the 2022 Muir-Hanna Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a fine example of the Trois Noix wine style: precise and pure. Picked at solid phenological ripeness, this Cabernet Sauvignon boasts a seductive nose and a sumptuous yet refreshing palate. Aromatics of red plum and black cherry are prominent, nuanced by savory notes of cured meat and Asian spices. Entry onto the palate is bright and crunchy with red fruits, qualities that will allow this wine to age for a long time. The wine becomes soft as it reaches the back of the tongue, finishing with velvety tannins and long-lasting flavor.
