Nancy’s Vineyard is a two-acre, sustainably farmed estate site in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley, lovingly named after an infamous cow that once lived there. The vineyard is planted to Clone 7 Cabernet Sauvignon, with vines ranging from 25 to 28 years of age at the time of the 2020 vintage. Grapes are hand-harvested at night and the wine is crafted without animal products, reflecting the winery’s longstanding commitment to sustainable and vegan-friendly viticulture. John Anthony Truchard’s Vinewerkes company, which manages over 26 Napa Valley vineyards, oversees sourcing from this site.

The Nancy’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is deep ruby and nearly opaque in the glass, with a bouquet that balances primary fruit aromatics and secondary barrel influences, the fruit firmly in the lead. Aromas include red and black cherry, dark raspberry, blackberry jam, and cassis, layered with dark chocolate, tobacco, cocoa powder, mocha, and vanilla. On the palate, red and darker fruits — red cherry, currant, plum, blueberry, and dark raspberry — are expressive, bright, and balanced, with a juicy, mouthwatering finish marked by a slight tartness, pink peppercorn, and grainy, lightly pixelated tannins.
